Apparently, knocking the governess’s teeth out is frowned upon. Even when said governess has smacked her young charge.
Yes, Finley knows that it’s it’s inappropriate to do and say the things that she does, but, well, quite frankly, sometimes she doesn’t even know they’re coming until it’s too late. Perhaps, the devil lives in her, as the latest housekeeper suggested.
When a lady comes looking for Finley the following day, she can’t help but wonder why on earth she’s wanted.
A few weeks I read and adored Girl in the Steel Corset. Then I read Juju’s review of this prequel and wondered how I’d missed it. Juju and I have very similar taste in books, so I was astonished to learn the after reading this prequel she didn’t love the first book.
I thoroughly enjoyed both, of course, after reading Juju’s review I realized that, even though the main character is the same, the books are in no way connected. Thanks so very much for your review Juju, if not for you I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed this as much as I did.
This is a terrific story with a great plot. Take some time and enjoy a bit of Steampunk.
