Andi Unexpected

amazon barnes & noble Goodreads
Twelve-year-old Andora ‘Andi’ Boggs and her fourteen-year-old sister Bethany move to rural Ohio to live with their eccentric twenty-something aunt after the sudden death of their parents. While dealing with her grief, Andi discovers proof of another Andora Boggs in the family tree whose existence was hidden in a Depression-era trunk in the attic. With help from her new friend and neighbor, Colin Carter, Andi is determined to find out who this first Andora was and what happened to her.

Hott Review:

Andi Unexpected was so, well, unexpected.

I’ve been looking for some mysteries that would be fun for my reluctant reading barely teen daughter and thought I’d try this out. It was really a lot of fun.

This was a fun mystery with a bit of suspense… and a lot of grounding 😉 It felt very realistic and I appreciated that the risks the children took were properly reprimanded. The suspense is age appropriate and quickly resolved.

While it’s not a Christian book, Andi lives in a community where church attendance is standard and praying is expected.

I think this is a great book and will be recommending it to my daughter. The length is perfect and it’s interesting enough to keep her involved.

Hott Review:

I love reading Christmas novellas in the summer. There’s just something extra sweet about those fireplace scenes and sledding escapes when it’s time for sand and sun.

The Christmas Catch was no different. This single-mom and workaholic professor really made this a romantic escape. Their short romance built on friendship and clean romance was the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

No matter the time of year, this no-drama novella is a great way to spend an afternoon.
