Abe Chaikin sure did make a mess before leaving Last Chance forty years ago and it appears that he’s he’s forcing his daughter, Lark, to clean it up by way of sprinkling his ashes on the 18th-hole at the local mini-golf course.

Lark is cleaning it up – but not without a LOT of attention. Good and bad. First the family of the murdered man wants Lark GONE. Then there’s the negro population that still calls him a hero. Of course, the mayor wants Lark gone, as well, but why? Then there’s the high school journalism team that can’t help but be awestruck by photojournalist Lark’s Pulitzers.

The only one truly on the fence is the Chief of Police – Stone Rhodes. You’d expect that being the grandson of the murdered man would put him firmly in the field but for some reason, Stone just doesn’t want to see her gone… or this case closed.

Hott Review of Last Chance Christmas

What I liked: Last Chance Christmas is a wonderful addition to my annual Christmas reading list! I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. I almost thought this was a Christian Inspirational until a couple of scenes happened – honestly though with the exception of a bit of mild cursing and one make out scene this was appropriate for audiences of all ages.
What I didn’t like: Overall Last Chance Christmas was great but there were a couple of places where I felt like the timeline was a bit messed up – like things weren’t taking as long as they should have or that the author shoved more into a time period than could ever actually happen.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!

Awww yay! I haven’t read one of hers yet. Maybe I’ll add this one to my Christmas list.
