  • Fall Into Reading Challenge Questions 11 & 12

As most of you know I was miserable and sick last week. So I did not get a lot done. This week the challenge question posted by Callapidder Days is:

Choose one or more of the questions below to answer. Your pick!

  1. Do you write in your books?
  2. Can you read in the car?
  3. Does the rest of your family enjoy reading?
  4. What’s the longest you’ve gone without reading?

I couldn’t choose so I answered all of them… I know you’re shocked!
1- I absolutely do not write in my books… well, except my Bible, school books, and history books. Oh, and those parenting books.
2- I read in the car whenever I’m not driving. It’s how I keep from yelling at hubby’s driving skills.
3- Hubby and Bug do not really enjoy reading but everyone else does. My brothers aren’t big readers but mom, sis, MIL, GMIL, FIL, and friends all read – though we do not enjoy the same books.
4- Well, maybe a month or two but I never go very long without reading. There was a time when I just couldn’t fit it in but I’ve never gone more that a week or so without reading my Bible, so…

I also missed last week’s question and hated to skip it so, here you go:

Do you ever read the end of a book before you actually get there? Have you sneaked a peek at the last page or two to find out what happens? Or do you faithfully avoid the final pages until you’ve “earned” them by reading to that point?

I do not usually read the end of a book before I get there. I have a few times when I’m thinking of adding something to the DNF pile but generally, I do not like to know what will happen.

What about you? Do you write in your books? Skip around? Read in the car?

How are you doing with your challenge? I think I’m about done. Not because I’m done reading I’ve just not finished the books on my list and have really gotten into the Christmas reading spirit. If the book doesn’t have snow and goodwill towards men I’m just not in the mood.
I’ve read 26 of the books I had chosen and still have 19 remaining. It’s really not too bad until you figure in that I’ve actually read more books in this time period that weren’t on my list than those that were. I really need to work on that.

What will you be working on this year?

  • I answered all four questions too and you can see my answers here.

I have about 5 books left on my original list that I am hoping to finish by next Tuesday – I foresee some marathon reading days in my future!

  • I've been enjoying your answers Gina. Fun posts.

I do write in my books (gasp!). Well, I used to before I realized I couldn't trade them on paperbackswap if I did. Now I'm reformed. I had a good reason though, I was trying to study how the author wrote it so I could write one myself. 🙂
