Hott Synopsis

Everything was perfect.

BN – Amazon – GR – Author

Absolutely perfect. Until… Life happened.

Now, Julia barely speaks to her husband. Her five-year old daughter, Gracie, doesn’t remember her mother smiling. And Julia’s sister, who was always her best friend, hasn’t heard from her in years. Could life get much worse?

Finding a bag of icky gooey slime on her porch, Julia cringed and almost tossed it, except Gracie absolutely loves the plate of bread that came with it and insists that they save a piece for Daddy. The piece that Julia just gulped down. Oh well, it looks like Julia will have to make the bread, now. If only she hadn’t alienated everyone she might have someone to share these multiplying bags with.

Taking a walk she finds a quaint restaurant and two other women as equally haunted as she.

Hott Review

This is a powerful novel. I don’t read a lot of women’s fiction because it’s emotional. It tears at your heart – especially when you see marriages falling apart, parents who can’t recover from the loss of their child, people who can’t move past their regrets – and I detest crying. But not only did I read this book – and cry – but I fell in love with the characters. I enjoyed their accomplishments. I cried for their losses. I laughed at their mistakes. Now, weeks after finishing the book… I miss the friends I made while reading.

I know there is much speculation about where Amish Friendship Bread got it’s name but to me it’s never been in question. It’s not an Amish recipe – It’s about Amish Friendship. Living in Amish Country I’ve always watched and admired how the Amish come together to share their delights, their messes, their work. They are first and foremost friends – family. It’s an amazing thing to watch.

I ask you to grab some starter and make some new friends!

I liked Friendship Bread too and I am not a huge fan of Women's General Fiction. I thought this had the right amount of feel good vs angst to keep a person engaged. I cared about the characters and that is a big thing to me 🙂

My Life Verse

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. (John 8:7 (KJV))
