Collette will not stand for this! How dare the man accept the applause for the book she wrote? What kind of a person would do something like that?
Collette can’t believe that even in this day and age women are accounted with little or no intelligence. That’s why she’s chosen not to marry. She will, however, find this man who is hinting to the press that he has written ‘The Last Days of a Rake’. She will find her friends from school and renew their acquaintance. Oh, and she may find that nice man who kissed her on the train…
I really enjoyed this book. It didn’t feel like the same old plot redone with new names. I felt like I was Collette fighting for my work and my reputation. Yes, describing this book will make it sound like so many others but it really was a refreshing change.
What I didn’t like. The steam. It was really very few pages but they made up for the quantity with graphic pictures! It was shocking and I only skim through it to see what they say so I don’t miss anything important.
The beginning of the book was enthralling. The middle really didn’t keep my attention. But the ending was strong. Overall, I really enjoyed it but it really made me want to read ‘The Last Days of a Rake’ so I’m thrilled that she did go ahead and write that – it always depresses me when I read about a book in another book and then can’t read the book my character loved so much!
