When an infant shows up on Nick Slater’s desk with a note, this case has the detective stumped. At which point beautiful Georgia Hurley shows up in his office as well, with an explanation for why she dumped him—and sporting a baby bump that dates back to their one night together four months prior…
Georgia knows she turned on Nick for his own good…but will Detective Daddy believe her? She offers to help care for his “temporary” baby for one week—surely the mother will turn up by then. But when the seven days are up, will they part ways and go back to their separate corners? Or will they find that a week of living as husband and wife, mommy and daddy, just made them hungry for the real thing?

Nick sure has feeling sorry for himself down to an art in The Detective’s 8LB 10oz Surprise. That is until Georgia Hurley walks into the station… pregnant.
I really like Georgia. I spent the book wishing we could hang out. I’d love to live in Blue Gulch. The feeling of community is very comforting and fun.
Overall I really enjoyed The Detective’s 8LB 10oz Surprise. I’m hoping to catch up on the romance I missed, A Cowboy in the Kitchen, and can’t wait to hear the next story!

A huge fan of series romance, Meg is VERY excited about her debut Harlequin Special Edition, A Cowboy in the Kitchen, launch of her series, Hurley’s Homestyle Kitchen. Book 2, The Detective’s 8 lb 10 oz Surprise, will be available in April 2016. Book 3, The Cowboy’s Big Family Tree will follow in November. Do not read these books on an empty stomach! Lots of comfort food cooking–and eating–goes on.
