Fried Chicken and Gravy by Sherri Schoenborn Murray

amazon barnes & noble Goodreads

Missy may have a knack for fixing cars, but she sure can’t cook.

Missy Stuart is humiliated when she burns dinner for the super cute, yet outspoken new auto parts rep. But, when he suggests to her father that she should take cooking lessons from the old ladies down at his church, she wants to crawl under a car and die. She’s perfectly happy working in their auto repair shop and has no intention of spending more time in the kitchen.

When she dutifully accompanies her father to church, she finds she has more to learn than a bunch of recipes.

Hott Review:

Fried Chicken and Gravy is a terrific book with a great message.

What I liked:I’ve been wanting to read Fried Chicken and Gravy for quite some time. Every time I see that cover I want to pick it up.

In some ways Fried Chicken and Gravy really made me miss “how things used to be”. More than anything I fondly remember small churches where the married ladies mentored the younger… and those awesome cookbooks!! Those are two things we need now, more than ever.

Fried Chicken and Gravy is a sweet Christian romance that’ll make you appreciate your memories and a terrific book!

What I didn’t like: I felt that Fried Chicken and Gravy was a bit slow. It may just have been the relaxed atmosphere of the time period and the setting but it was slower than I prefer.
