Review: The Snow Bride

The Snow Bride is the second of two holiday books in the ‘On A Snowy Night’ Christmas feature by Debbie Macomber. The Christmas Basket first.

Barnes and Noble – Amazon

Jenna has spent her life doing the right thing. The adult thing. The responsible thing. She had to – her mother absolutely wouldn’t – and someone needed to take care of the two of them.

But Jenna’s had enough of picking up her mother’s pieces. Sure Mom’s recovering from her fifth divorce but she should be able to handle it by now, right? Jenna’s leaving on a jet plane. She’s off for greener pastures.

Well, not exactly greener. She, at thirty-one, finally met a man. He’s everything she’s ever dreamed of and more. At least, Jenna hopes so. See, she met him online and Jenna has just quit her job to move to Beasley Alaska to be with him.

Yet, even with Jenna’s best laid plans things go awry. First, Mr. Perfect didn’t show up. Then, Jenna had to hire a pilot to take her to Beasley. Then, then the beastly pilot she hired took objection to who she was planning to meet and kidnapped her until he could talk some sense in to her! Are all men up here like this?!?

My Thoughts

Okay, I didn’t enjoy this one. It just cuts against everything that I am to know that she dropped a great job (yes, I realize she was going nowhere and was in love with her boss) and left her only family and all of her friends to meet some guy she’s never met who didn’t even have the decency to come to her? Yeah, I think not.

It’s not a terrible book and once I get halfway through it the book is okay but I get seriously irked every time I read it. Why do I keep reading it, you ask? Because I’m an idiot! I keep forgetting that I don’t enjoy it! It’s a novella in with others that I do enjoy so I just keep reading. Well, no more!!

  1. Yah most of her Christmas stuff is good but sometimes I encounter a heroine I can't connect with. For me that happened with The Perfect Christmas.

    Thanks for your honesty 🙂

  2. Thanks, ladies!

CMash – that review was my personality. Yes, that's exactly how I am when I'm finally myself… it doesn't happen often enough!!

Juju – I agree, I loved the perfect Christmas but that woman I just wanted to smack! Oh well, we can't love everyone one…
