I am so happy April is over!
Soccer season (the spring one) started. The boys are playing well, but they were moved into a division that they just aren’t ready for so their scores aren’t terrific.
Coach Hubby is grumpy. His team is losing, some of them don’t want to be there, if someone gets sick we don’t have enough players to play, one of his best (playing & attitude) players may be leaving and he got drafted onto the board. The fields were flooded and we needed to find a new place to practice. On top of all of that — he spent most of the month on the road for work. Do you know what that means? He had no idea what was going on at practice and had to trust others to ‘do’ his job.
Easter was this month, which meant that my boys & I filled thousands of easter eggs for the Hott Easter dinner. I generally get started early because we’re busy but we were RUNNING so I didn’t get to start very early… as a matter of fact, I didn’t realize it was even coming until about ten days before… duh, it’s not like it happens every year or anything!
Then we had NO internet, NO cable, and NO telephone for almost TWO weeks. AAARRRRGGGHHH!! So, I got nothing done! Well, I did sort out my pics. What was the worst part of that? I’d taken my website down so that I could make some changes and the internet stopped working while I was down.
I’d also agreed to have Grammy’s 90th birthday party at my house. I’m not a people person so that was difficult but we needed to hold it somewhere and there weren’t many options. The party was held at Saturday at 4. Think this through I work full time plus… Sunday was Easter – not home, Monday – soccer practice, Tuesday – weed flower beds I’d not touched since October, Wednesday – soccer practice & team manager’s meeting (LATE NIGHT!), Thursday – ‘family dinner night’ at the Grammy’s & Pappy’s, Friday – mini soccer tournament 1.5 hours away, Saturday – 8:30 game & 10 am game. Yeah, when was I supposed to CLEAN? On top of that Mom came home with me from soccer so she got to see firsthand how bad my house looks on Saturdays. GRRR!
So, hubby & I pulled it together & were ready at 2. Yeah, Us! And then I turned on the washing machine. That’s all I did. I Swear! I went back upstairs & had no water in the faucet. ‘Ugh, Hubby, I don’t have water.’ ‘WHAT DID YOU DO???? Don’t you know not to touch anything when people are coming over?’ Yeah, like it was my fault.
So I sat down and laughed. Then I quickly got the kids in the car and made a run to my MIL’s so we could use the restroom before people started arriving. I passed my brother on the way — WHY WAS HE EARLY? HE’S ALWAYS LAST!!! — but not to worry, he won’t notice anyway. We returned with an hour to spare…. but people started arriving. Hubby did find a plumber to come visit who actually had the parts to fix our issue. But hubby spent the ENTIRE party in the basement with the plumber. He’s the social one – NOT ME!
So when the plumber left I realized that that was the third family function at my house that my hubby spent away from the family ‘fixing’ some emergency… I’m really starting to have my suspicions about what is causing these things to happen.
And then yesterday I was SO sad because I saw that I had one less follower than I’d previously had…. then this morning I realized that I actually HAVE 99 MORE!! YIPPEEE!!!
Oh, my, Gina! You're right…you've had some month. Here's hoping that May will be WAY better!
I have had a terrible month as well! Hope it improves for you.
Whew, what a month! My April was horrible (as far as blogging & reading go)….
Whoa! I feel ya! April was a serious roller coaster for me too.
