Review | Lumière

Hott Synopsis:

“Do you trust me?”

It was the last thing her father said to her. And looking back, Eyelet can’t help but see that he broke his promises. He left her broken, unfinished, and afraid. He also left her to be watched.

When Eyelet’s mother is falsely accused of murder and sentenced to death Eyelet must flea for her life. She runs directly to her father’s secret lab only to find his greatest invention being stolen. Knowing that she needs it to survive Eyelet chases down the monster who has stolen it only to find herself in a predicament that seems to be a fate worse than death.

Hott Review of Lumière:

What I liked: Now, this was an adventure! I read until my eyes couldn’t stay open and picked it up as soon as I awoke. This was an amazing adventure that I’ve insisted my son read.
The writing is strong, the story amazing, the adventure heartstopping!

What I didn’t like: I have to wait for the release of Noir!

Grade: A+
Ages: 15+
Steam: YA – just some smooching
Setting: Brethren, Gears, & more
Series: The Illumination Paradox #1

Author Bio:

Jacqueline was nicknamed “Little Erin” (as in Erin Brockovich) after she took on her school board over being placed in black toxic mould and, well…lost. BUT if she hadn’t lost, she’d still be teaching with no time for writing, which would be the real tragedy because more than anything else in the world Jacqueline loves to write.

These days, she is affectionately referred to as the Quentin Tarantino of YA, known for her edgy, rule-breaking, Tim Burton-esque style of writing. Jacqueline likes gritty stories with beating hearts, dislikes wimpy heroines and whiny sidekicks, and loves a good tale about an irresistible underdog.

Lumière—a steampunk-fantasy, romance adventure—is Book One in her young adult Illumination Paradox Series.

Jacqueline is a graduate of Ellen Hopkin’s Nevada Mentoring Program, and has also studied under James Scott Bell, Christopher Vogler and Don Maass, where she was the 2012 recipient of the Don Maass Break Out Novel Intensive Scholarship. She is represented by Josh Adams of Adams Literary.

Jacqueline is available to chat with book clubs and welcomes pod casts, guest blogs, Skype interviews and speaking engagements, as well as comments and emails from her readers.
