The grass is always greener on your sister’s side of the fence…

Divorce left Harper Szymanski with a name no one can spell, a house she can’t afford and a teenage daughter who’s pulling away. With her fledgling virtual-assistant business, she’s scrambling to maintain her overbearing mother’s ridiculous Susie Homemaker standards and still pay the bills, thanks to clients like Lucas, the annoying playboy cop who claims he hangs around for Harper’s fresh-baked cookies.

Spending half her life in school hasn’t prepared Dr. Stacey Bloom for her most daunting challenge—motherhood. She didn’t inherit the nurturing gene like Harper and is in deep denial that a baby is coming. Worse, her mother will be horrified to learn that Stacey’s husband plans to be a stay-at-home dad…assuming Stacey can first find the courage to tell Mom she’s already six months pregnant.

Separately they may be a mess, but together Harper and Stacey can survive anything—their indomitable mother, overwhelming maternity stores and ex’s weddings. Sisters Like Us is a delightful look at sisters, mothers and daughters in today’s fast-paced world, told with Susan Mallery’s trademark warmth and humor.

Hott Review:

Judgemental

Yup, we’re all a bit judgemental, but never more so than when we look at our family, or when we look in the mirror.

I have to be really honest, I love to read Susan Mallery’s books. While they’re women’s fiction, they’re not emotional and dramatic. Well, they are, but they’re still light and fun. I always learn something, or at least come away feeling less alone. Sisters Like Us is no different. I felt like I was highlighting everything so I’d remember it. The conversations the sisters were having with their teens, the relationships they had with their mothers, their romances, their fears, their feelings of inadequacy. I got it. It was as heartbreaking as it was freeing.

Sisters Like Us is an amazing look at family dynamics, love, and growing up. Most especially, it’s about getting over yourself. 😉

I loved that, while Sisters Like Us is the fourth book in the Mischief Bay series and their were drop ins by previous characters, there is nothing in the storyline that requires reading the other books. (Though you’ll want too!!)

You won’t want to miss Sisters Like Us!!

Author Bio:

Susan MalleryNew York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery has won the hearts of millions of readers around the world with books described as “immensely entertaining, intensely emotional” (RT Book Reviews), “hilarious” (Fort Worth Star-Telegram), and “heartwarming” (Publishers Weekly). One major retailer recently described her as “the queen of romantic fiction.” While she deeply appreciates the accolades of critics and booksellers, Mallery is even more honored by the enthusiasm of her readers and the word-of-mouth that catapults her toward the top of the bestsellers lists time and again.

Mallery lives in not-so-sunny Seattle with her husband, plus a toy poodle and two ragdoll cats who are not at all impressed by her growing fame.
