I’m happiest
I know, I don’t usually do this but I really just need to share.
Sometimes life is simple. Not easy, mind you, but simple. It’s the same thing every day. You know you have the money to pay the bills. You know you’re kids are healthy and safe. You know your marriage is solid. You know you’re going to run every day for school and practices and argue with your kids about doing their homework but even that’s okay because it’s a schedule.
Then there are the other times. The times when you don’t know where the money will come from to pay the mortgage. The times when you’re just praying that no one will get sick because you don’t have any health insurance or the cash the pay the doctor. The times when you can barely talk to your child because you know their answers will just infuriate you. The times when you’re working so much that you wonder if that loving family you remember was just a dream.
I know it’s going to sound weird but I’m happiest when it’s hard. Think about it and I’ll bet that you are to:
- When you’re fighting with your children those moments when they come to you just for a hug are much more precious.
- When you don’t know where the money is going to come from to pay the mortgage yet there’s always enough you’re reminded that God really does make sure that we have the necessities.
- When you’re working all hours day and night and hubby brings you a cup of coffee just because it looks like you need a break you remember why it is that you love him so very much.
- When you have no idea how to buy groceries and friends and family just start dropping by with leftovers.
Yes, for me, the tough times are the best. Every moment reminds me of God’s greatness and how well He did when he gave me my family and my friends.
THANK YOU, LORD!
Wow. Awesome post. I hadn’t thought of it that way.
Thanks, it’s the only way to get through 🙂
