Ready to step out for a breath of fresh air? Well, look out, because the streets were filled with poop. Don’t believe it? Hop in a time machine and travel back to June 1770 in the pages of this book!
Hott Review:
I’ve always wanted to travel back in time to a more peaceful stress-free existence. Until I read this book!
Now, I know about ‘The Yucky Past’, ‘The Awful Smells’, ‘The Creepy-Crawly Bugs’, “The Nasty Germs”, and so much more! 1770 was not as romantic as it seems in the books.
This book is really well done. It completely grossed me out but the pictures, the graphics, and the short interesting segments make it perfect for you reluctant reader or history buff!
My middle-schooler is going to love this book!

Gross! Definitely not an era that I would like. Wonder if one had any friends due to the hygiene 🙂
I guess if they were all gross they didn’t think about it… but, yuck!
O I would love this. I’m always considering this kind of stuff. For example: can you imagine what it must have smelled like when folks threw their poo in the streets, no one wore deodorant or brushed their teeth, but they dressed in stuffy clothes?
I KNOW! It really was gross!!
