Hott Synopsis:

Democracy! Whatever! Kat McGee may love the 4th of July celebrations, but she doesn’t see what the big deal is about this voting stuff.

Suddenly, her grandmother decides the whole McGee clan needs a little history lesson, complete with a trip to where it all started. Even if that means missing their long awaited celebration.

They arrive at the American History museum and Kat is almost immediately whisked away to help Lady Liberty track down a missing Thomas Jefferson and The Declaration of Independence — because, we won’t be a nation without it!

Hott Review of Kat McGee Saves America:

What I liked: I LOVED this book! I loved how it absolutely shows the reader exactly how important history is and gives a great lesson about the people instrumental in creating this nation in a fun and exciting way that any middle-grader is sure to enjoy!
What I didn’t like: Nothing!

Author Bio:

Kristin Riddick doesn’t look good in hats, but she seems to wear a lot of them. Her voice has been heard on shows such as One Tree Hill, The OC, Everybody Hates Chris, and Chuck, and on-camera she recently played opposite Megan Mullally on Fox’s Breaking In. She’s written a screenplay, a pilot, a middle-grade book, and a lot of memorable thank you notes… so she’s told. She teaches Pilates and spinning to stay sane, may have a super power or two, and takes a lot of chances riding her bike all over Los Angeles because she gets road rage when driving. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kristin graduated from The University of Virginia and currently divides her time between LA and Austin with her multi-talented producer husband David Kirkwood.
