Angels come in different packages.

Single mom Spring is doing her best to raise her two-year-old daughter alone. She has no desire to date again, so is pleasantly surprised at her best friend’s wedding when a handsome man’s flirtations charm, instead of annoy her. But when her toddler runs up and calls her Mommy, she can tell by his reaction that her daughter is a deal-breaker. He can’t escape fast enough.

Hudson Sandel is proud of his bachelor status even as he attends his little brother’s wedding as best man. Too bad the only woman who tempts him has a daughter that rules her out. Instant fatherhood isn’t on his agenda. But when the kid throws a tantrum, he swoops in to help keep her from ruining his brother’s wedding. When the night ends, he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous blonde’s expression when he played hero to her child. It made him feel uncomfortably good, and it doesn’t help that he keeps running into the angelic duo around town. Hudson knows Spring and her daughter are a package deal. The question is: Does he want to take on that responsibility, or will he stick to the road leading to professional success and glory?

Hott Review:

A few weeks ago Kathy sent out an offer to read Package Deal and I promptly disregarded it because I really just didn’t have time. (My reading schedule is tight since I’m trying to read all of the books that are already in my library!) Then I saw the excerpt and knew that I’d regret it if I didn’t read it. So, here we are 😉

What I liked: I really enjoyed Package Deal. There’s a lot of meat in this adorble book!

My absolute favorite part of Package Deal was how complex the story is. It’s not just a fluffy romance. Spring and Hudson work through touchy topics such as unwanted advances, sexual harassment, spousal abuse, premarital sex, and cheating. Plus, that biggest one of all, getting over yourself to be a part of a family.

Becoming a parent to a child that wasn’t yours from birth isn’t an easy thing; Nor is it an easy thing to share a child with a new spouse. Package Deal is a very real picture of how consistent love can overcome the obstacles and bond a family.

What I didn’t like: It looks like I’m going to have to add a new author and series to my must read list!!

The steam and INSPY aspects were a bit confusing. Package Deal is definitely a clean romance but not one I could give to my teen. There are no intimate aspects spoken of, but I didn’t love that Spring was made to feel like a prude because of her more traditional viewpoint. While this novel definitely is NOT an INSPY novel, I do know the 2 or 3 sentences about God and His love for us won’t endear Package Deal to some readers. I appreciated it, though it felt a bit forced.

All in all, Package Deal is an amazing novel & I can’t wait to read more from Charissa Stastny!
