I have loved Amanda Quick since the first book I picked up. These books were actually the first I ever read from Jayne Ann Krentz & started a lifelong love of her writing.
Reckless is definitely a favorite. I own both the print and eBook versions but don’t recall having actually read it before. Boy have I missed out!!
As with most of Jayne Ann Krentz’s historicals Reckless features a fun, intellegent woman with a penchant for trouble. It’s a fun book with a bit a suspense and lots of wit.
There’s a bit more steamy intamacy in this book than I prefer, but taking the time to skim those areas was more than worth it for the book.
One of the things I loved most about Reckless, besides the characters… and the plot… and the wit, was the reminders. Hiding in the midst of this captivating novel, Ms. Quick great advice on being married. Or even just being in a relationship. It’s usually something that hits me, more like an “Oh I should be doing that” moment.
One of my favs from Reckless is:
She had to find a way to uncover the noble, idealistic knight she knew lay beneath the cynical exterior. Raging at him and calling him a coward to his face was probably not a promising way to go about the task.
So if you’re looking for a spellbinding novel of wit and action, try Reckless, you won’t regret it!
