Four Weddings and a Sixpence: An Anthology

Beloved authors Julia Quinn, Elizabeth Boyle, Laura Lee Guhrke, and Stefanie Sloane deliver the stories of four friends from Mrs. Rochambeaux’s Gentle School for Girls who find an old sixpence in their bedchamber and decide that it will be the lucky coin for each of their weddings . . .

Something Old

Julia Quinn’s prologue introduces her heroine, Beatrice Heywood, and the premise for Four Weddings and a Sixpence.

Something New

In Stefanie Sloane’s unforgettable story, an ever-vigilant guardian decrees that Anne Brabourne must marry by her twenty-first birthday. But love finds her in the most unexpected of ways.

Something Borrowed

Elizabeth Boyle tells the tale of Cordelia Padley, who has invented a betrothed to keep her family from pestering her to wed. Now she’ll need to borrow one to convince them she’s found her true love.

Something Blue

In Laura Lee Guhrke’s story, unlucky Lady Elinor Daventry has her sixpence stolen from her and must convince the rake who pilfered the coin to return it in time for her own wedding.

Hott Review of “… and a Sixpence in Her Shoe”:

YAY! I was so worried when I read Something Old and it was so short that I wouldn’t get the amazingness I’ve come to love from Julia Quinn, but luckily, … and a Sixpence in Her Shoe really is a novella and I got some Quinn fun!

… and a Sixpence in Her Shoe is terrific. I won’t say it was worth the full price I paid for Four Weddings and a Sixpence but I definitely would buy this as a stand alone. Bea was my favorite in each of the novellas and when Quinn’s wit and romance were added it was a show stopper.

I’ll definitely read … and a Sixpence in Her Shoe again. Bea is the kind of a girl I want my daughter to be when she grows up, and her aunts just made my day. The romance was sweet but honest and heart-warming. Absolutely believable, though way too short for my tastes.

Author Bio:

Julia Quinn#1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn loves to dispel the myth that smart women don’t read (or write) romance, and in 2001 she did so in grand style, competing on the game show The Weakest Link and walking away with the $79,000 jackpot. She displayed a decided lack of knowledge about baseball, country music, and plush toys, but she is proud to say that she aced all things British and literary, answered all of her history and geography questions correctly, and knew that there was a Da Vinci long before there was a code.

In 2010, Ms Quinn won her third RITA Award in four years and was the thirteenth author to be inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame. Her books have been translated into twenty-eight languages, and she has been profiled in USA Today and TIME Magazine. Her twenty-third novel, The Sum of All Kisses, was released in late 2013.
