Fury in Death by J.D. Robb is another fabulous addition to the In Death series, and after reading all 63 books, I can honestly say this one was especially impactful. When Eve Dallas and her team begin hunting a killer driven by an overwhelming, deeply personal rage, they find themselves facing a case where they can understand the fury behind the crimes… even while making it their mission to right the wrong that caused it.
One of the things I loved most about this story was Eve’s humanity. She’s such a strong, determined investigator, but this case gives her the opportunity to connect with the emotional heart of the investigation in a way that really stayed with me long after I turned that last page. The mystery has plenty of layers, secrets, and twists to uncover, but it’s the emotional impact behind the case that makes this one stand out.
I also loved spending time with Eve and Roarke and their found family. Watching their marriage grow throughout this series continues to be one of my favorite parts, and their relationship is as heartwarming as ever here. The ongoing story arcs and the characters we’ve come to know and love are exactly why I keep coming back to this series.
Fury in Death is an emotional, gripping, and thoroughly entertaining read for all police procedural and suspense fans… and a must for longtime Eve Dallas fans.
