Teaser Tuesday – 08-10-2010

Anyone can play along! 

Just do the following:

Grab your current read Open to a random page 
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page (yes, I generally share a bit more… but it’s just so exciting…)  
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!   (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

My teaser is from ‘All I Ever Wanted’ by Kristin Higgins.

To my mother, there was absolutely nothing wrong with having a birthday party next door to a wake; this funeral home had been in her family for three generations and th whole death is a part of life philosophy was indelibly tattooed on her soul. So what if at age three, Freddie wouldn’t take a nap anywhere but in a casket? So what if Mom used to store the Thanksgiving turkey in the same fridge that kept the clients fresh?

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
