Teaser Tuesday – 10-05-2010

My teaser this week is from ‘The Christmas Necklace’ by Maryn Langer Smith the fourth of nine novellas contained in A Prairie Christmas Collection.

She jerked off her sleeping mask and sat up, puzzled by the crimson light filtering into her canopied bed. She tore open the brocade bed curtain and stared in disbelief through the wall of windows across the room. Flames licked at bare branches of the ancient sycamore. Black smoke seeped in around the window frame.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!

    Very descriptive! I like quotes like that…where you can close your eyes and see what the character's seeing.
