The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott
Josephine Aventure was on her way to earning a place in England’s Aeronautical Corps until the dashing smuggler she’d once loved showed up. Etienne Delaguard risked much to help England win the war against France. Over a Twelfth Night masquerade, can a gentleman of the sea win the heart of a lady of the air?
Quite some time ago, one of my favorite things to read were novella anthologies. I loved the different perspectives on a similar topic and I loved getting to meet new authors without needing to commit to full books or new series. It was perfect… as was the fact that they typically required less thought and time commitment and when you’re raising kids or studying enjoyment is key.
So I snapped up My Fair Regency when it was offered for review hoping to enjoy another of Regina Scott’s books and find some ‘new to me’ authors… And I loved it. These sweet stories were fun and interesting. I enjoyed each of them but my favorite, of course, was Regina Scott’s novella.
The Aeronauts Heart was fantastic. I don’t know how, but within pages, I was emotionally invested in these characters and couldn’t put my Kindle down! I think, more than my love of steampunk, I really could empathize with the people seeking friendship in a new country. The country they risked their lives to protect. The people they saved. The people who now turned their back because of a different accent…
Thank you, Regina for sharing Josie’s story with us.
