A Winter Wonderland

Two people at crossroads each spending their Christmas holiday at a ski resort hoping to make a final decision as to which direction their life should take. When they accidentally run into each other sparks fly – and not the type you’d imagine.

Review: I usually LOVE these Fern Michaels Christmas novellas. I wait all year for them. This one, though, fell short for me. It was fun and sweet but the ending was to abrupt and not as definitive as is typical.

Author: Fern Michaels
Grade: B
Ages: 16+ (No foul language & only some chaste kissing)

The Joy of Christmas

It’s almost been three years since Iris’s life was shattered on Christmas morning. Iris’s refusal to acknowledge her mother’s deathbed wish has caused her to become only a shell of the daughter she’d once been. Unable to deal with the guilt of what she’d done, Iris left — she left her family and the man she was to marry. Can she once again find the Joy of Christmas?

Review: This book took forever to read! While it was a good book it was just too emotional and lacking in Christmas feeling for me to love it.

Author: Holly Chamberlin
Grade: B
Ages: 16+

The Christmas Thief

When a huge party books the the hotel where Elizabeth works she watches her Christmas vacation in Maine with her family fly away. Will this party have a devestating effect on gopher career, as well?

Review: It may have started slow but it finished well 🙂

Author: Leslie Meier
Grade: A
Ages: 14+

The Christmas Collector

Jenna in the best at her job. She grew up with a borderline hoarder and knows just where to draw the line — she collects nothing — and her job as an estate salesperson is perfect for her. She refuses to see the sentimental value in anything – until a shoebox full of secrets upends Jenna’s otherwise orderly life.

Review: I loved it! The hardest part of reading this book is that I couldn’t hug Jenna or Estelle. This kept me up, as I couldn’t put it down until it was finished… and then they were still on my mind.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
