Alaska: Where the men are as bold and untamed as America’s last wilderness…

It’s been three years since Lane Bishop tragically lost her fiancĂ©, and she’s finally ready to risk her heart on someone else. The hot look in Dylan Brodie’s eyes says he’s going to be that man.

But when Lane flies to the remote 1930s fishing lodge to help him renovate, she discovers a little girl who won’t speak, eerie legends and strange sounds in the night. And when she investigates the history of the lodge, she uncovers a legacy of injustice and murder.

As danger stalks his daughter and the woman he is coming to love, Dylan must risk everything to uncover the shocking truth.

Hott Review:

What I liked: I loved Against the Wild! The plot is so intricate and so much more than just a romance, or just a suspense. It’s a great book! I couldn’t help but to love the characters and every page made me want to visit the lodge. Kat Martin certainly writes a captivating story!
One of the things I loved most about Against the Wild was how family played such a great role. First Dylan has made a family from his friends and will go to the ends of the earth for them. Second, Dylan touches base with his brothers and even though they’re separated by geography, it’s obvious they’re close and have each other’s backs. These relationships give Against the Wild a wonderful heartwarming feeling.
What I didn’t like: While overall I loved Against the Wild the graphic nature of the steam and the excessive use of foul language turned me off. Because of this, actually the language more than the steam, I probably won’t read any further books in the series.
Note: There is a murder that, while completely consensual, may cause rape victims uneasiness. You’re welcome to contact me directly if you have questions.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
