Is having magical powers a gift? Or a curse?
Chase Tinker is about to find out…

Before Chase Tinker can recover from finding out he apparently has the astonishing, but out-of-control power to move things with his mind, his younger brother Andy suddenly has a magical ability, too!

Soon the boys are in the middle of a wild and crazy supernatural adventure when they’re whisked across the country to live in a 560 year old magical house with a powerful 4,000 year old Relic that’s in control of all their magic, and if anything happens to this Relic, their magic and their house will die. On top of that, the boys learn that dangerous and wicked villains are planning to steal the Relic and take control of all the magic, free will, and light in the world.

Now, with the help of Andy, their feisty cousin Janie, their fearless friend Persephone, and Maxwell the ferret, Chase must find his missing dad, fight through frightening family secrets and betrayals, and outwit, out-magic, and outmaneuver their dastardly enemy in order to save his family, and the world.

Hott Review:

A magically fun ride!
What I liked: I really enjoyed Chase Tinker and the House of Magic! I enjoyed this even more than the first Harry Potter movie. (I never actually read the books.. )

Chase Tinker and the House of Magic is a great book not only showcasing the age-old fight of good versus evil, but the important stuff too: how to have fun, setting priorities, why you need to listen, and why family is important. It’s amazing to read a book where you’re so immersed you forget what’s going on around you.

I’d definitely recommend this for readers, unless you’re very conservative, of at least 10-years. The main characters ages range from 10-15, though Chase is 13. Hint: You’re going to want to buy the eBook, because you’re going to fight over a print copy!

What I didn’t like: There were a few times I thought the story dragged, a few words used I didn’t think were appropriate, and a few situations I thought may be a bit much for younger readers.

Grab Chase Tinker and the House of Magic and get lost! Or better yet share it with your kiddos!! 😉

Author Bio:

Besides being an Author, Malia is a Ballroom Dance Instructor and Ferret-Sitter. She was bitten by the writing bug in her teens, where at that time she wanted to write sappy love stories with loads of angst and smooching. It was some years later that she changed her mind and decided to study creative writing for middle graders and tweens, and anyone else who would enjoy her wild and crazy imagination. One night she had a dream that she lived in a house where every room had a fabulous magical power in it. And that’s how her “Chase Tinker Series” came to be. (She’s currently working on an Andy Tinker sequel.) She also loves pizza, chocolate, reading, colorful Christmas lights, and watching TV. She’d love to have the awesome abilities to teleport and move things with her mind. Malia lives in the Seattle area with her cute little ferrets.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
