Hott Review:
I picked up A Night at the Animal Shelter, when it was free, hoping to find a book to share with some of my favorite middle-grade readers. The cover is adorable, the age level listed on Amazon is 8-18, and Goodreads lists it as a children’s book. This will not be shared with the kiddos.
What I liked: I really liked the story. A Night at the Animal Shelter is a sad but honest look at the life of those left behind and the love that so many take for granted. Animals just know how to love, they can be taught differently, and so many are mistreated or discarded because they have a personality or are an inconvenience. I loved how that was shown from their side and hope that A Night at the Animal Shelter enlightens even one person.
What I didn’t like: I feel the language, while it may be used in many households, is inappropriate for children.
** Note: On Goodreads the title is shown as “Love for Freedom”
