Treated as a pawn, can she prove her power?

For years, the quick-witted Lady Ysabelle Benzel was forced to advance the ambitions of her wicked stepfather, first as a singer for the court and later in pursuing a marriage alliance. Ysa thought she’d escaped him at last by hiding among the Khorrum, the warriors of the wildwood, who have become her dearest friends.

Kullan Asanji is a powerful Khorrum healer, yet he struggles to heal his own wounds. If only he could punish the high-ranking man who gave him the scars he hides behind a mask. Kullan had thought kidnapping the man’s stepdaughter would force a confrontation. Yet he quickly realizes that Ysa is no pawn. She has a growing power that might even heal his heart, a heart that is more hers every day.

As Ysa’s stepfather allies himself with their enemies, he puts her friends and Kullan’s people in danger. Ysa must learn to master her power and turn it for a purpose she never imagined. Together, she and Kullan might be the only ones who can prove that true love is strong enough to conquer the rising darkness.

If you like closed door, swoon-worthy fantasy romance—featuring intelligent, determined heroines and untameable, honorable heroes; dual points of view (hers and his); and a happily-ever-after with ongoing world conflict—in a land designed to sweep you away, grab this story perfect for fans of Kenley Davidson, K.M. Shea, JA Andrews, and Tara Grayce.

Hott Review:

Singer of the Dawn by Regan Allen is a captivating and exhilarating read that had me hooked from the very first sentence. How could it not with a start like this?

How far would she get if she jumped out of the carriage and ran?

Another of my favorite conversations was when Kullan asked “what greater consequence than death?” and Lady Ysabelle responded “Death is generally quick. Marriage to some fellow as dastardly as my stepfather lasts a lifetime.” How true and as you can see, the dynamic between them is comforting, even though he’s kidnapped her, and the world-building is absolutely captivating I just can’t get enough of the Bonded Realms. I became more invested in their journey, and this series, as the stakes just kept getting higher and higher.

And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Lady Ysabelle is a force to be reckoned with, and Kullan is just the kind of brooding, yet honorable hero I love to root for.

If you’re looking for the perfect blend of romance and adventure, with strong characters and a captivating fantasy world, then look no further. Singer of the Dawn is a must-read!

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
