Two best friends jump-start their lives in a summer that will change them forever…

Single mom Ellen Fox couldn’t be more content—until she overhears her son saying he can’t go to his dream college because she needs him too much. If she wants him to live his best life, she has to convince him she’s living hers.

So Unity Leandre, her best friend since forever, creates a list of challenges to push Ellen out of her comfort zone. Unity will complete the list, too, but not because she needs to change. What’s wrong with a thirtysomething widow still sleeping in her late husband’s childhood bed?

The Friendship List begins as a way to make others believe they’re just fine. But somewhere between “wear three-inch heels” and “have sex with a gorgeous guy,” Ellen and Unity discover that life is meant to be lived with joy and abandon, in a story filled with humor, heartache and regrettable tattoos.

Hott Review:

What I liked: The Friendship List is one of the best books I’ve ever read. I laughed. I cried. I laughed with tears streaming down my face. My husband thinks I’m nuts 🙂

When I started reading this book I thought it might be a little hard to get into but with every page, I saw more of my life and my experiences, and my heart got wrapped up in every word. So many experiences that come throughout your life are reflected in the pages of this sweet book – the pain of loss, the joys of motherhood, The ecstasy of dating, the amazing friendships that complete our lives.

The friendship list is absolutely a book that you won’t want to miss no matter who you are.

What I didn’t like: The only thing I absolutely didn’t love about this book is some of the steaminess and frank conversations that I don’t enjoy and would keep me from sharing it with several of my friends.

Susan Mallery
New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery has won the hearts of millions of readers around the world with books described as “immensely entertaining, intensely emotional” (RT Book Reviews), “hilarious” (Fort Worth Star-Telegram), and “heartwarming” (Publishers Weekly). One major retailer recently described her as “the queen of romantic fiction.” While she deeply appreciates the accolades of critics and booksellers, Mallery is even more honored by the enthusiasm of her readers and the word-of-mouth that catapults her toward the top of the bestsellers lists time and again.

Mallery lives in not-so-sunny Seattle with her husband, plus a toy poodle and two ragdoll cats who are not at all impressed by her growing fame.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
