When a chance encounter with a galaxy hopping space warrior drops Selina Langston down a rabbit hole of kidnapping schemes, time altering super powers and an occasional intergalactic battle, she must decide whether to trust her head, her heart or her hormones.

Until now sixteen-year-old Selina hasn’t had any prospects for a boyfriend. She’s been shunned by her peers due to her clumsy social skills and her oh-so-public blunders, not to mention her inclination to think and speak in hashtags and stage cues. But then Marcum, a mysterious foreign exchange student, arrives by way of an interplanetary spaceship. Selina is entranced by his good looks and an awkward manner that rivals her own. Marcum is captivated by Selina’s power to lengthen time, something she didn’t even know she could do. This could be a match made in the heavens … if it weren’t for two factors that will keep them apart. And a galactic journey Selina can’t possibly survive.

Hott Review:

I’ve been really looking forward to reading The Time Bender. Especially after reading the description I found here. But, even though Ms. Chapoton’s genres & writing styles fall right into my preferred reading I just didn’t love The Time Bender.

It’s not a bad book by any means. The Time Bender has great characteristics, there’s adventure, sci-fi, drama, and romance. I personally just didn’t connect with the characters and therefore didn’t find myself enjoying it.

Try it and let me know if you have a different experience!

Author Bio:

Debra ChapotonDebra’s latest novel, THE TIME BENDER, is the first in a 4 book series that pits a teen girl with a social disorder against two cute and clever aliens who aren’t quite as human as she’d like. Her previous young adult novel, THE GIRL IN THE TIME MACHINE, presents a brand new twist to time travel. Earlier novels, EXODIA and OUT OF EXODIA, are post-apocalyptic American retellings of an epic event. A SOUL’S KISS, EDGE OF ESCAPE, SHELTERED, and THE GUARDIAN’S DIARY range from psychological thriller to paranormal to coming of age.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
