Hott Review:
Spying in High Heels is a cute mystery. I don’t generally enjoy first person novels however Maddie’s personality was such that I enjoyed reading her adventure. While it was easy for me to see who was responsible for the killings, Maddie didn’t seem to be able to tell and was very much just trying to do what was right. I think she’d be a good friend to have and because of that I enjoyed reading her story. Some of the other characters they weren’t as deep and I had a lot of trouble liking them. For example, Maddie’s boyfriend is framed for murder and sent to jail, and I think she should have cut her losses and walked away, but that wouldn’t have made for very good reading.
While Spying in High Heels is not steamy there are some things that many will find distasteful. The characters generally lie, cheat, are promiscuous, and drink a lot. For the most part, this isn’t explained in a disgusting or detailed way but it’s definitely not something I want my teenager to read or believe is OK.
All kidding aside, though. Did I enjoy Spying in High Heels? Yes. It’s an enjoyable, if a bit raunchy, Chick Lit Mystery. Would I have read it as a teen? Absolutely. Would I give it to a teen to read? Heavens No!
