Teaser Tuesday – 05-18-2010

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read

  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page (yes, I generally share a bit more… but it’s just so exciting…)

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
(make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title and author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser is from ‘Pieces of April’ by Diane Haeger.

He heard the haunting echo of Isabelle’s pleading even  through the barrage of street noise as he settled back and the taxi, a big ebony-colored cab, began to chug its way through the traffic steadily down toward Mansion Street. He was still shaking as he held the newborn child in his arms, wrapped only in a pale blue blanket the midwife had brought. He hadn’t even taken the time to properly wash her, fearing that he would lose his nerve altogether.
This must be done, he told himself. I’ll not let you raise a bastard. A priest’s child, for the love of God!
To join in on Teaser Tuesday you can either leave your teaser below in the comments or leave the teaser on your site and link to it in the comments.

So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
