It’s all just pretend.
When Carrie and Mike meet at the “Pool of Lost Rings” each after losing their significant other they begin an odd sort of friendship that precipitates a fake but much needed relationship.
Mike’s 20th high school reunion is coming and he doesn’t want to admit he’s been dumped for being “a nice guy”, again. And Carrie was let go just hours before her engagement party. How can she face all of those people waiting for her?
It seems like just the idea to fix their problems… if only they hadn’t committed to being “just friends”.
To me The Sometime Bride felt a bit like a steamy version of The Gift of the Magi. I didn’t love the timeline but found it too be a realistic and sweet romance.
