Ivory Moore can’t believe this captain turned Duke thinks he can walk in here and tell her how to do her job. She was hired to do a job – clean up this mess to prevent a scandal for this not-so-innocent miss – and he keeping getting in her way.
All she needs to do is to prevent a scandal and find the girl before the Duke fires her and ruins every chance he has of finding his sister before she’s forever gone.
What I liked about Duke of my Heart: So much fun!
Duke of my Heart is a great romance. Mystery. Comedy. I absolutely could not put it down. I really enjoyed the characters and plot but it’s the dialog and snark that really pulls you in.
The mystery isn’t terribly intense or difficult to solve but watching Ivory and Max makes it worthwhile.
What I didn’t like about Duke of my Heart: It’s a bit steamier than I prefer but not so bad that it can’t be skimmed.
This is the second of Ms. Bowen’s novels that I’ve read and I have to say, if it weren’t for the steaminess, she’d be a top rank for me. I love her snark & writing!

But it was Kelly’s infatuation with history and a weakness for a good love story that led her down the path of historical romance. When she is not writing, she seizes every opportunity to explore ruins and battlefields.
Currently, Kelly lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two boys, all of whom are wonderfully patient with the writing process. Except, that is, when they need a goalie for street hockey.
