He thinks she’s an annoying know-it-all…

Hugh Prentice has never had patience for dramatic females, and if Lady Sarah Pleinsworth has ever been acquainted with the words shy or retiring, she’s long since tossed them out the window. Besides, a reckless duel has left this brilliant mathematician with a ruined leg, and now he could never court a woman like Sarah, much less dream of marrying her.

She thinks he’s just plain mad…

Sarah has never forgiven Hugh for the duel he fought that nearly destroyed her family. But even if she could find a way to forgive him, it wouldn’t matter. She doesn’t care that his leg is less than perfect, it’s his personality she can’t abide. But forced to spend a week in close company they discover that first impressions are not always reliable. And when one kiss leads to two, three, and four, the mathematician may lose count, and the lady may, for the first time, find herself speechless …

New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn’s enchanting third novel in the Smythe-Smith quartet is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and tug at your heartstrings in equal measures.

Hott Review:

WOW.

I have always liked Sarah’s personality. There is something about her dry humor and dramatic phrases that always has me laughing. (Really, hubby thinks I’m crazy when I’m reading sometimes! )

I also really like Hugh. Sure, he screwed up pretty badly, but he’s done much to try to fix his moment of idiocy in the time since. Plus, he always seems so sad. He deserves happiness. And laughter.

I think that’s what made The Sum of All Kisses such a terrific book to me. First, I already adored both of the characters. Second, I laughed out loud through most of the book. And, perhaps, most importantly, Hugh learned what it is to love and be loved – platonically and romantically.

The family. The friends. The unicorns. The Great and Terrible Caravan of British Aristocracy. Yes, that.

I’ll be reading this again!!

Author Bio:

Julia Quinn#1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn loves to dispel the myth that smart women don’t read (or write) romance, and in 2001 she did so in grand style, competing on the game show The Weakest Link and walking away with the $79,000 jackpot. She displayed a decided lack of knowledge about baseball, country music, and plush toys, but she is proud to say that she aced all things British and literary, answered all of her history and geography questions correctly, and knew that there was a Da Vinci long before there was a code.

In 2010, Ms Quinn won her third RITA Award in four years and was the thirteenth author to be inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame. Her books have been translated into twenty-eight languages, and she has been profiled in USA Today and TIME Magazine. Her twenty-third novel, The Sum of All Kisses, was released in late 2013.
