All of my life I’ve wanted to travel. To see things. To get close the the amazing images I’ve seen in books. Luckily & unluckily my job has provided me with that opportunity.
A few weeks ago I took a trip to Phoenix. Generally, for these work trips I arrive after the sun sets & leave before it rises. This time however, I got into town during the day. The conference was held in a downtown hotel and adjacent conference center so I got to play tourist as the shuttle chauffeured me.
It was SO weird. I’ve never seen so much dirt and rocks! There was NO grass!! Oh my goodness. And the mountains, they’re just weird. So jagged and rough.
Honestly, though the people there were amazingly nice, tremendously efficient, and so laid-back! It’s nothing like the rushed pace I live in.
Thanks, Phoenix!! I had a lovely time!
I loved Arizona when I visited. I’m with you though, it took me a bit to get use to the lack of green.
The people are very very cool.
Especially in the smaller towns.
It’s amazing isn’t it? Hotty said they were only nice because they were hired to be nice but it wasn’t that – people were very genuine and helpful.
