The day that Lord Helmsley gets married four of his friends spend the evening celebrating their freedom. Late in the evening they – Lord Warton, the Earl of Norcroft, the Honorable Nigel Cavendish, and Daniel Sinclair (a ghastly American!) – make a bet. The last of them to forfeit their freedom will get four shillings and an impressive bottle of cognac. It’s not a lot to win but really it’s the point of the bet not the winnings, right? They at least believe so.
Start this wonderful series and spend plenty of time laughing! It’s absolutely worth your time!
