A Dust Bowl Christmas
Angry, he retreats to the barn, where he sleeps and dreams of faraway Bethlehem. In his dream, he visits Mary and Joseph, and their newborn son, Jesus. The family offers Paul food and shelter and warmth—extending to him the love and charity he lacks and teaching him of the true meaning of Christmas.

Hott Review of Asleep on the Hay:
Warning – you’re going to cry… I had to read Asleep on the Hay several times myself before I could get through it aloud without my voice cracking.
Asleep on the Hay is an amazing book. First, the pictures are outstanding, I could just sit and look at those all day. The truly magnificent part of this book is Paul. He’s normal. He’s real. Every child… person will really understand his feelings. Having something else missing from his life. The only thing he still holds dear. He’s lost everything and now they want something more. Ahhh, such a perfect book!
