Yet, it always seems as if God puts them in our path to torment us. All she wants to do is to get home to see attend her sister’s wedding. Yet here she is stuck on the stage with a stinky man who appears to be sleeping off an drunken binge. And apparently things can get worse! The stage is going way to fast and there’s an accident up ahead. There is no way to get stopped in time. Ugh! It looks like she’ll have to fix this herself! Why on earth does it seem that when she’s irritated it’s always a man’s fault?

My Thoughts

I knew I shouldn’t have started this! I picked it up to while away an hour and then got frustrated when I only had an hour! Then I stayed up too late reading and couldn’t let it go until I was finished.

I laughed the whole way through the book – I was laughing out loud before I was finished the second page! Beth’s attitude was so much fun! I loved her. Mandy was adorable. Many times I read Mary’s books and feel like I’m being told my father’s memories. They seem completely real and familiar but are so much fun you have to wonder if they’re really true. Thanks so much for another fun time!

What I liked about this book. I liked the characters. I liked that it was about the lives of two sisters that go in opposite but such similar directions at the same time. I loved that characters from other books I’d read were pulled into the fray – and kept the same characters as they had in their original books.

What I didn’t like about this book. Well, I detested Mandy’s husband. I hated being reminded that their was a time – not very long ago – that I would have had to listen to hubby no matter what stupid thing came out of his mouth. For me that is sometimes the hardest part about reading – being reminded about the past experiences that weren’t what they should have been but have made us stronger all the same.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
