Fall into Reading: Q6

Each week Katrina @ Callapidder Days will be posting a question to go along with our FIR challenge.

When it comes to fiction, are you more of a “plot person” or a “character person”? If you had to choose, which concept would win out when it comes to picking and loving a book: plot or character?

I’m absolutely a plot person. While I prefer to have awesome and well developed characters I can still read a book if I don’t like them or they’re shallow. However, I can’t read a book if I can’t find a point or don’t understand the point. Case in point – Emma.

What about you? Which do you prefer?

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!

Definitely characters. A plot can rock but if I can't connect, the book doesn't work for me.

Yeah I would have to say def. the characters! I love good character development.
but something else – I love a great scene setting! i really want to feel as though I am right there with them, I want to visualize the farm, the beach, the hospital. If they don't do a good job at painting the picture, the story is blown for me.
