Jacob Hirsch flees Chicago with his daughter Cassie praying only for a chance for them to live. They find themselves quarantined in the Amana Colonies with a relatively new nurse.

When Liesel Strauss awoke she had no idea she’d be quarantined by the end of the day. She was only dreading saying goodbye to her best friend at the train. As the train pulled out she lingered and watched the freight pull in. Then she saw a man and his daughter in desperate need.

What else could she do?

Hott Review:

What I liked: Love Finds You In Homestead, Iowa is a terrific book. It takes you to a place that is simpler and peaceful. Even with the mystery and intrigue when Jacob is accused of embezzlement this book is great for a relaxing evening.

What I didn’t like: Chapter 2 was terribly confusing. Admittedly I didn’t read the synopsis before starting Love Finds You In Homestead, Iowa, and my confusion cleared by the end of the chapter but I was a bit mixed up for a while.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
