Ripped from her home, Lady Murian has vowed to return to Rowallen Castle along with its other residents. All she needs to accomplish that is to find proof her husband was murdered and the castle taken by nefarious means. That it’s been almost two years since it was taken means little to Murian and her band of not-so-merry widows. They’ve only one room in the castle left to search for the proof and way too much at stake.

Max Romanovin, Oxenburg’s warrior prince, is visiting Rowallen Castle for his own purposes, though it helps that his grandmother has requested his presence. Not one to bow to anyone, Tata is acting extremely odd, quite desperate and deferential, and to the louse who owns the castle. Maybe when Max gets to the bottom of the mystery with her he can find the starving women who held up his carriage and asked for donations when he arrived…

Hott Review:

Absolutely enchanting!
There is never a doubt that I’m going to love a Karen Hawkins tale, but The Prince and I is one of the most inspiring books I’ve read!
The Prince and I gives characters and townspeople to admire and befriend. Not only did I enjoy my time with Max and Murian but his team and her widows just push this tale past five stars.

Teaser:

By the way, speaking of the brigands, I may have found something to aid us in our search.” The sergeant pulled a paper from his pocket and unfolded it. “This was in the earl’s library. It is a plat of all the lands held by the Rowallen estate.” Max took the map and scanned it. “Does the earl know you took this?”
“I left a note, as is only polite, though I did not write it in English. I’m sure he will figure it out in time.”

Author Bio:

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Karen Hawkins is known for her wonderfully humorous and emotion-tugging historical and contemporary romances. The author of over 30 novels, Karen writes for a living between shopping for shoes, playing around on Facebook and Pinterest, looking for fun items for Hawkins Manor, and napping, although usually not at the same time. Sometimes, for fun, she takes Instagram pictures of her two rescue dogs, Sadie and Teke, and posts them online.

Yeah, she’s a wild one.

Karen lives in balmy Orlando, Florida, with her husband, aka Hot Cop, and her two dogs. Her children are both out of college and have become productive, non-violent members of society. Karen writes six to eight hours a day when not obsessively reading research books on Regency-era Scotland, snacking on chocolate, or looking out the windows of her house and thinking about gardening. Her hobbies include sculpting, oil painting, playing badminton, and — ok, ok, she doesn’t have any hobbies, but if she did, she’s sure they’d be something refined and fascinating.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
