Erin Foley is hiding out in Virgin River trying to figure out why she’s no longer content.

BN – Amazon – GR – CBD – Author

She should be content – the siblings she’s raised are finally adults. They’re out on their own and moving on with their lives. Leaving Erin with the rest of her live to do with as she pleases… alone. UGH. The sounds just great. Should a thirty-something perpetually single childless woman be going though empty-nest syndrome? Oh, but she is – now what?

Aiden Riordan is between jobs. He’s just left the navy after twelve years and is quite ready to start his own family. Way past ready, actually, but he’s been a little gun shy since his ex.

Yet, when Erin and Aiden meet it’s quite a fiasco from the start. He’s minding his own business hiking up to the most beautiful peak he’s seen in Virgin River when he comes upon unsuspecting city-girl Erin. To her, the mountain man hacking his way through the brush with a machete looks like a Manson want-a-be their meeting ends with Erin being admitted in the hospital and Aiden fixing her hopeless garden.

It would be great if things would just stay that way… but fate and a little con brings Aiden’s not-so-ex back into his life and Erin retreating. Will he be able to keep the best thing that has ever happened to him – or will he return to what was?

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this. It was a bit long (409 pages) but was worth the time it took. It’s not one of those books that you ‘MUST FINISH NOW’ (robot accent inferred) but instead one that makes you wonder how your friends in Virgin River are doing today. I’ll also admit that it’s one that you forget you’re reading. You the kind I mean – you feel like sucha part of the story that you pick the book up at a stop light and get all the way to the bank teller before you realize that you should have put it down. (Yes, luckily it was only 2 or 3 blocks – PLEASE, don’t tell hubby!)

I really enjoyed the characters in this one. Erin the tax attorney who really enjoys the law and who forgets how to enjoy life. Aiden the OB Doctor who loves his job and is afraid to get close to anyone after his marriage debacle several years ago. Annalee the perfect gorgeous ex who just can’t be as terrible as Aiden says.
