Hott Synopsis:
Then it all starts to fall apart…
Ellie starts being pressured by her boyfriend, Dylan, to ‘go all the way’. Her mother finds she has cancer. She finds out that Dylan has been lying and cheating. It’s not long before Ellie loses everything she thought was important.
Why would God do this to her? She’s done everything He asked. Doesn’t He realize how much this hurts?
Hott Review:
As I got into this book it sort of reminded me of Job. It was ironic, really, because I’d just gotten done reading Job (the book of the Bible 🙂 ) and had finished feeling less than fulfilled. In many ways this novel was able to work through some of my questions about such an important subject!
What I liked: Being a teen isn’t easy – but being a Christian teen is much more difficult. I think that Laura’s book accurately portrays how difficult it is to be a teen in this life.
After a slow start I really got into this book, I felt like I was a teen again with the raging emotions and the crazy life. I was shocked at how easily she drug me in.
What I didn’t like: Although I was really glad that Ellie remained pure, I didn’t think the author was detailed enough about how difficult that would have been. The pressure she was getting from her boyfriend was very intense and teens need to know what they’re up against.
I can’t wait to see what more Laura has for us!

I love books.Back in third grade, my cousins teased me because I was reading a very thick book about the battle of New Orleans. I don’t remember anything about that battle now, but I remember wondering why they didn’t want to read it.
After graduating with a BA in English and history (where I didn’t learn anything about that battle of New Orleans), I taught 7th grade language arts for eight years. That’s where I fell in love with YA books.
Wanting to share my passion for books with more kids, I earned a Master of Library Science degree and switched to an elementary school. I loved sharing great books with kids, but I missed writing with my students.
So, I started writing on my own. My first book was a flop, and I didn’t even finish it. Then, Ellie kept popping up in my head, and I had to write her story. Worth the Wait was released on 2-4-14.
