I just didn’t get the point. I kept reading and wondering, ‘why?’ I mean, first her father was just annoying — especially, because I know someone exactly like that who I constantly just want to smack. Second, Emma really just needs something constructive to do. I kept wanting to tell her to go clean something or have some kids — no nannies — to keep you busy. She was so naive and clueless. UGH!

Anyway, It took all that I had – and six months – but I finished. It’s definitely a book I won’t be picking up again. Actually, I can honestly say that, it’s colored my tastes for classics.

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI.     I picked it up after watching the movie and found it to be quite entertaining(That could be because the movie was much worse than the book) It's not an AWESOME book though.

    Nice review(esp. liked the "go clean something" part )

    I'm so sad you didn't dig it. I really liked it. Especially the dialogue.

    Yeah, Jane Austen herself said that in Emma, she had created a heroine that only she really liked. I don't know why she was so attached to Emma,except maybe because Emma is so flawed, but I think there's universal agreement that this is NOT Jane Austen's finest hour. Emma's father is annoying as hell, no doubt about it.
