Ok, I’ll admit I’m severly slacking with the novella’s this month. Usually it’s not a problem but there just haven’t been any lately that I have the heart for, so I’ve just been booking it through the full-length novels. Actually, I’m having a problem there, as well. See, I’d started Reunion in Death – one of my favorites – but then I received Mad Love from the Good Golly Miss Holly Book Tours and well, I can’t put down my in death novel but only have seven days to mail out Mad Love… Grrr. How do I get into these messes? Okay – No more book tours! I just can’t comit to them!!
Anyway, about my cover issues…

So, yesterday I received the book in the mail and it really has NOTHING to do with spaceships! It’s the perspective of someone laying on the street looking up at high rise buildings – what an idiot am I!!!
So, I just merrily go on my way thinking it was an isolated incident… NOT!

Then I hopped on over to visit Juju at Tales of Whimsy because she commented that she was loving Across the Universe by Beth Revis, another cover I thought was silly. Who wants to see two blobs floating in space – even if they are beautiful nebula? Well, for some reason when I looked at the cover on her site… it clicked. It’s really people kissing – DUH!
I’m starting to think I should start wearing my contacts again…
And I’m wondering what other great books I’m missing out on because I thought the covers were silly…

First thank you for my morning laugh. I have the book "Blind Man's Alley" so I knew what the cover was, HOWEVER, I do have my glasses on and I agree with your 1st reaction to "Across The Universe", people kissing? real people? not like E.T. come home people?….those things look like blobs to me.
I agree – that's what I've thought the last several months. But if you see a bigger pic there is a boy on the top kissing a girl on the bottom and the starts are just background. go to the GR page and click on the cover so it gets bigger. I was shocked!
oh, you left me wth quite a laugh this morning, which i needed. We may be putting out 15 yr old dog this morning. However, I would definitely say, its time for the contacts. I do hope you enjoy the book you won.
I would have never seen that in Blind Man's Alley if you hadn't mentioned it.
I did see the kissing couple in the nebula…I just thought they were aliens.
