My life

Do you ever think about the things you do for your family and wonder why?

Recently, I attended Bug’s soccer game. I love my sons and try to make it to all of their games and practices but sometimes I just wonder: WHY?

It was more than one hundred degrees out with few shady spots and close to the end of half time when Zany came to me and ask to use the bathroom. At a home game we’re good – they have bathrooms. But at this particular field the bathrooms were – Heaven forbid – port-a-potties. Grrr.

I was sitting at the edge of the field with sweat pouring off of me but we raced up to the tent and grabbed the Clorox wipes & hand sanitizer. (Zany is still to short to squat & won’t go if you’re holding her.) We ran to the potties. Once there, Zany didn’t want to go in alone – so I went in with her. Cleaned up everything as best I could and let her go.

Then I thought, ‘While I’m here I’ll just go ahead and go too’.

Big mistake.

First, I had to switch places with Zany – not an easy task! They do not make those large enough for a mom & her child!

All I could think of was hurrying – and how much hotter it was in this blue box than it was sitting at the field.

My shorts slipped down with no problems and I hurried with no issues. Until… I tried to get my shorts back up. Between being so sweaty I was slick and the lack of space I just couldn’t wiggle into those shorts. And the more I hurried the more stuck they became.

Then, Zany started giggling. Then she started laughing out loud. Then I started giggling. At that point I started wondering if I was going to have to return to the field in my panties. (I was also thanking I hadn’t worn a thong!)

I’m so very happy that Zany was with me because if she hadn’t started giggling I’d probably still be stuck in the little blue box!

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
