Family Life

Well, it’s that time of year again. What time is it you ask? It’s the beginning of the fall soccer season, of course.

Many of you probably don’t realize it, but, our family is all soccer all the time.

Yes I know many say that – but do they really mean it?

My son Bug loves soccer. He plays, fall soccer, winter soccer, and spring soccer. He’s also trying to get on the summer tournament circuit. (Not that we don’t already do summer tournaments – he’d just rather play for a team & KNOW he’s going to get to play.) He also son’t play for the normal local teams. We have to search out the most competitive and driven teams we can find to keep his love of the game in check.

My oldest, CJ, enjoys soccer. He’s played the AYSO circuit a couple of times but I was flabbergasted when he came home and said he signed up for the school team. They’re pretty good and very competitive. CJ is not competitive. He just likes to have fun.

My youngest, Zany, loves soccer, too. But I really think it’s because she enjoys running. She also loves that I takes tons of pictures at each game.

Hubby, well, this is all his fault. He plays summer adult league. Sometimes, winter, too. He is one of Bug’s coaches. He’s helping coach CJ’s team. Our dinners consist of healthy foods designed to build or rebuild muscle & energy. Our conversations revolve around how they can improve & where the need to regulate.

Me? Well, honestly. I really don’t like to be outside. But I’ll follow my babies anywhere. I’m at every game and practice (unless they conflict). Sitting on the sidelines, taking pictures, and cheering our teams on. I love it. I love to watch these children enjoy their friends, enjoy sports, and strive to do their best. It’s wonderful and honoring.

So, the point of this is… soccer started Friday night. CJ had his first game ‘under the lights’ and Kenneth had/has a two day tournament yesterday & today. So I have two things to say to start the season.

GO WARRIORS!!
GO BLAZERS!!

am I going to have to wear purple??

I love to read! But I don't always think the synopsis on the backs of books do them justice. I do, however, believe all books should come with an intended rating - or at least a steam FYI. So, I'm taking upon myself to educate all -- christian & secular readers, alike -- on the books behind the synopsis and the possible things you may not want your YA reader to see. Enjoy!
