Now, right away I know exactly which book he’s looking for. See, Hubby’s not a reader. In the twelve years we’ve been married he’s read:
- The Hobbit
- The Lord of the Rings
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
- How to say it at work
and,
So, it’s not too terribly hard to guess which book he “needs”.
Bug looked at him and asked incredulously, “You want a book?”
CJ fell on the floor laughing and said, “Good one, Dad”.
Zany gave him the look.
I smiled and said, “It’s in the library”.
He just looked at me and walked outside. While he was out there I went down and got the book off of the shelf & put it on his desk. When he returned, I was sitting on the couch (next to the desk) reading. He looked at me and said, “I looked everywhere for that book. It has a yellow cover, right?”
“No, it’s not called Idiot’s Guide to Talking to Your Co-Workers.”
“Well, how am supposed to find it?”
I smiled and said, “It’s in the non-fiction section”.
“But there are hundreds of books down there. Wait, you have a non-fiction section?”
“There are thousands down there and doesn’t everybody? How else would you keep them straight?”
“Gina, you need help…”
Wow, your library sounds amazing and very organized.
Yes, my other knows about my library and he wouldn't know the first thing about finding anything, especially in the non-fiction section (same as yours). We do not share the habit. If I ever saw my husband reading a book, I would have a coronary! Luckily, my sons emulate me in reading. I aim to keep it that way. ;O)
