Hott Synopsis

As Jack the Ripper once plagued

BN | Amazon | GR | J.D. Robb

the prostitutes on the streets of Whitechapel, England so another Jack is plaguing the streets of New York.

As the first sent notes to the inspectors chasing him, this mimic has singled out Eve Dallas. He has chosen her as his antithesis. His huntress. His finale.

Eve must track this mimic amidst her conflicting yearnings and fear of motherhood.

Hott Review

Eve may not remember her mother – nor Roarke his – they have each had plenty of examples of what motherhood shouldn’t be. So, while trying to track own the phantom feeding on the women of New York City, Eve suffers from an internal fear of getting too close to the only woman she loves as one would a mother.

The plot of this story seems like so much fun and I loved the snarky characters, as always, but this book just isn’t one of my favorites. Something is just missing for me. Maybe it’s that almost everyone one of the characters seems to do something out of their nature. There weren’t tremendous leaps just enough that I didn’t feel connected. Maybe it was because it’s more emotional than usual. Maybe it was just because there wasn’t a personal impact in this for Eve – or a member of her ‘family’.

My Life Verse

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. (John 8:7 (KJV))
